I wanted to include an article this week that helps debunk a lot of concerns and thoughts I get from my female athletes. You may find yourself worrying about “getting too bulky” while lifting, or wanting to “tone and shape” without growing too much muscle mass. Check out this article and pay attention to these common misconceptions!
1. The “shape” of your muscle is genetically pre-determined. There is no specific exercise or regimen to change the shape of your muscles that were determined more by your parents than you!
2. When it comes to losing body fat, the most important thing is DIET.
3. A single kilogram of muscle takes a calorie surplus of 9000 calories (in addition to your daily required calories) to be created. (WOW!)
4. You must train SPECIFICALLY to put on size.
